Workshop on HR Analytics: For Future Leaders

The Global Market of Business is witnessing a changing & the most volatile environment and to keep the students abreast with the latest business trends, the Department of Management, BITS Pilani, organized a one day workshop on “HR Analytics: For Future Leaders”, with the cooperation of Mrs. Anubha Dadhich, Asst. Professor, Department of Management, BITS Pilani.

The workshop was chaired by the keynote speaker, Mr. Mohan Joshi, Management Advisor, The Strategic Advisor of SCHOTT Glass India Ltd. It was open to all and was attended mostly by the Faculty Members, Students and Research Scholars of Department of Management.

The workshop was not a theory oriented session but a fun filled and activity oriented. The first session started with great enthusiasm when students were given the freedom to speak and give examples from the general happenings in the market to make it livelier.

The second session was a good question answer session where in which the speaker gave answers to all the questions about the effectiveness of leaders and the tools they choose to quantize the work progress of every employee very patiently.

In the third session, there was a group discussion on bridging gap between different generations & the impact of HR analytics in bridging the gap. Most of the students participated proactively in giving the inputs for the same.

And in the final session the speaker provided inputs on what and how the HR analytics is all about and the transformation it can make in creating future leaders. And then the students had a role play through which they got to know how important it is to analyze the data before proceeding to make decisions.

The workshop mainly emphasized on providing the scenarios in which HR Analytics played or will be playing a crucial role in creating emerging leaders knowingly or unknowingly and the grey areas where in the HR professionals and the organizations need to invest their time and money for the future development.

It can be encapsulated from the workshop that decisions made after analyzing the data about personality, attitude and talent were of greater success rather than those decisions made subsequently from the logical thinking and perception. Also students can infer that transformation in generation can be carried out without putting much effort if they use Human Resource Analytical tools and techniques for improving involvement of leaders in transformation.

It was great pleasure to all the students of BITS Pilani to have such a great individual with them who ignited their minds through practical lessons.
